what’s up curious? yeah, i know - the site seems a little light hearted but don’t let the cartoons fool you. I’m a real player offering to share some real knowledge with you about how to make it as a performer.
No unproven theories...
I quit my day job at Denver bank 16 years ago at age 25. soon after that i realized no one could show me how to get my career moving as a musician. plenty of folks were available to teach me chords, scales and arpeggios - but No one could really teach me how to get endorsements, promote myself, break in to the gigging, touring or recording scenes, or even how to get started as a professional player. i realized I’d have to figure all of that stuff out on my own...so i did.
my success as a sideman has been 99% preparation and 1% luck. i firmly believe that anyone can prepare to succeed in music just like anyone can prepare and succeed at being a doctor, lawyer, manager, plumber, computer programmer etc. My book can show you how to get organized, prepare and work towards that success.
No hype...
click on the video above and you’ll see that i’ve earned the accolades, reputation, and a mile-long resume to back up every word i share with you. if you’re trying to work like me, my book can help you get there. It’s got all of the things that I did (and still do) to keep my schedule packed with recording dates, live gigs, clinics and everything else that you’ll have to do to stay on top of your game. i keep it simple, straight-forward and REAL. I explain everything so you can start applying the information immediately...

Mel who?
No tricks...
the book is really easy to understand but you’ll still have to do the work and that part is not easy.
if you don’t move your career forward with this book, send it back to me and I’ll immediately refund your money plus the postage. I'm not trying to rip anybody off, and my reputation is on the line every time I send one of these books out. this book is simply the straight up truth about how to make your career happen if you want it bad enough.
no gimmicks...
if you’re lazy, unambitious, or just a plain ol’ slacker looking for an easy way to get over without making a real effort, this book won’t help you. nothing else will for that matter. the same applies if you’re a person that does the bare minimum of work and expects a maximum return.
no bull...
the book is 168 pages, a short read, but you’ll be referring back to it for the rest of your performing life. It’s got the answers to all of your unanswered questions and a lot of the questions you’ll have later...
